On June 29, 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) would continue as law and that the individual mandate in the Health Care law would remain and Health Care Reform (HCR) would move forward. This is true; however, it will not be simple in the months ahead for employers or individuals to understand what exactly will happen to the way health care plans and insurance companies operate in order to comply with the law. The news media buzzes with information on Medical Loss Ratios (MLR), Insurance Exchanges, Medicaid Expansion or not, Essential Benefits, Uniform Summary Descriptions, Repeal, etc. We could go on and on with what we are hearing and reading about in the news.
