- 1904 Agency founded by W.S. Weaver in Celina, Ohio
- 1906 A. A. Stolly purchased the agency from Mr. Weaver in April
- 1908 Moved Agency to Faurot Opera Building in Lima. Became General Agent for Fidelity & Casualty Co. of N.Y.
- 1911 Sold first auto insurance policy
- 1920 "Vic", joined his father in the agency after his discharge from U.S. Navy.
- 1931 Agency survived a financial crisis even though the Old National Bank & Trust failed as well as a major insurance company
- 1952 Dick Stolly joined agency after spending five years with the Fidelity & Casualty Co. of N.Y.
- 1954 Tom Stolly joined the agency after his discharge from the Army and a year with Continental Insurance Co. in Chicago
- 1954 Our beloved founder "A.A." Stolly passed away in July after 48 years with the agency
- 1955 Homeowners and Major Medical policies were now permitted due to new state laws
- 1957 Agency moved to 219 N. McDonel Street
- 1959 Rita Scullin was hired as Office Manager. Rita previously worked for the agency from 1939-1942
- 1963 Built new office building at 973 W. North Street as more space was needed
- 1972 Purchased Ricker Insurance Agency. Ed, his wife Frances and faithful employee Peg Good stayed with us for several years afterwards
- 1976 Mark Stolly became the first of the "4th Generation" when he joined the Agency after attending Xavier University and Bowling Green State University
- 1977 Vic passed away after 57 years with the agency
- 1979 Tim Stolly joined the agency after graduating from University of Cincinnati
- 1984 Bill Stolly joined the agency after graduating from the College of Insurance in NYC and a year with Walter B. Kay Company in New York
- 1984 Rita Scullin retired as Office Manager. Her daughter, Janet Wade, succeeded her
- 1984 Due to the growing office and need for additional space we renovated our current location at 1730 Allentown Road
- 1986 Stolly Financial Plans, Inc. was formed. Randee Henson joined our agency
- 1987 R. E. Mann Insurance Agency, who desired more markets for his clients, joined with our agency. Bob Mann, a long time friend, is still a guiding light to all of us
- 1988-90 Tom Stolly retired as an active agent. Dick relinquished managerial responsibilities, the younger generation (Mark, Tim, Bill and Janet Wade) were ready to take over
- 1991 Jon Wade, Janet's son, joined the agency as a Producer
- 1995 Purchased Eaton Endly and Peck Insurance Agency. George Peck passed away less than two months after the purchase. Becky Walther, daughter of co-owner Harry Vorhees, is a Commercial Customer Service Agent
- 1997 Kevin Stolly joined the agency after graduating from College of Insurance in New York and working with CNA/Motorists. We opened a second location at our place of birth, Celina, OH.
- 1998 Purchased Ted Frueh Agency.
- 2000 Jon, Kevin, and Randee became partners. Purchased Bill Sharpe Insurance Agency
- 2001 Added second addition to our building
- 2002 Janet Wade retired after 31 years with us
- 2003 Roser Insurance Agency of Wapakoneta with Logan County Insurance of Lakeview joined Stolly Insurance Group. Bruce Roser, long time Wapak Agent, and Jack Orders of Lakeview bring valuable experience to the organization.
- 2004 Stolly Insurance Group celebrates 100th Anniversary and is awarded the Lima / Allen County Small Business of the Year Award
- 2006 Celina office moved to 709 North Main Street
Over the years, we have added a number of professional people to our staff - be sure to look them over before leaving our site. Since starting over 100 years ago, the agency has grown considerably and is totally immersed in the insurance business. We employ over 50 people and write all lines of insurance throughout Ohio.
